Job Description
Must be 18 years of age or older, possess a valid New York State CDL Class B driver's license and have two years of truck driving experience. Must be able to pass pre-employment or random drug tests, or meet an exception, as required under the Federal Motor Carrier Safety requirements. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain power equipment certification. Good organizational and interpersonal skills. Prior experience operating power equipment in a warehouse setting preferred.
This position will be exposed to extreme temperatures and/or weather conditions. There will be extended periods of sitting, standing and/or bending, pulling, and reaching. This position would normally have routine opportunities for the employee to be able to alter their physical position or change eye focus. This position will require the safe use of a power equipment. Employee should have the ability to lift up to 80 pounds without assistance.
Responsible for picking up donations from food donors, assisting with food collection, storage, and distribution operations of the Food Bank.
1. Picks up and delivers food donations, product, and other materials when necessary.
2. Drives and operates all company vehicles in a safe manner and follows all traffic laws.
3. Inspects all power equipment prior to use.
4. Follows all safety standards and procedures.
5. Keeps commercial driver's license and Department of Transportation Medical Card up to date.
6. Assists in the proper handling and storage of product.
7. Loads and unloads cargo, and verifies loads are accurate.
8. Maintains accurate receiving inventory records of donated product.
9. Completes trip reports and ELD daily.
10. Maintains truck in good operating and physical condition - refuels, add fluids, cleans vehicles inside and out daily.
11. Completes pre and post trip inspections daily - reports issues to Manager or Director.
12. Maintains positive representation of the Food Bank with agencies, donors, and outside contacts.
13. Assists with food distribution operations.
14. Works independently and collaboratively with other departments and employees in support of the mission of the Food Bank.
15. Works occasional weekends as needed
16. Adheres to the Food Bank's Employee Code of Conduct.
17. Performs miscellaneous tasks on a rotating basis within the department.
18. Performs other duties as assigned.
