Description:

About Muir Wood

Muir Wood Healthcare delivers exceptional behavioral health services to adolescents ages 12–17 facing mental health and substance use challenges. With a unique model of high-touch, personalized care, Muir Wood’s team of psychiatrists, therapists, nurses, and recovery counselors provides treatment across seventeen serene residential campuses throughout California. The organization’s in-network partnerships with leading regional and national payers set it apart, enabling access to a broader patient population and making quality care more attainable for families.Despite overwhelming demand, Muir Wood is one of the few scaled providers nationwide focused exclusively on adolescent behavioral health, positioning it as a vital leader in addressing the youth mental health crisis.

In 2023, Muir Wood partnered with Avesi Partners, a top-performing, healthcare-focused private equity firm known for building strong, collaborative relationships with management teams. Since Avesi’s investment, Muir Wood has doubled its patient capacity, expanded into Central and Southern California, launched intensive outpatient (IOP) programs, and strengthened its leadership and systems. With Avesi’s backing—and over $2.2 billion raised since its 2021 launch—Muir Wood is now poised to extend its impact across California and beyond, expanding services and reaching young adults to meet the growing national need.
