The Role Plan, staff, monitor, and safely deliver welding projects according to schedule and budget by performing the following duties.
What you will be responsible for: \n - Supervise and coordinates activities of workers engaged in welding of products and structures.
\n - Manage all day-to-day welding related activities.
\n - Responsible for overall welding shop performance, on-time delivery, quality, weld count, and cost (cycle time and overtime).
\n - Responsible for initiating and implementing Manufacturing Process Capability and Continuous quality improvement.
\n - Review and oversee weld shop design for optimal efficiency.
\n - Drive for continuous culture improvement throughout entire welding process.
\n - Develop and maintain training / certification programs for welding team.
\n - Maintain shop, equipment, tools, for the purpose of ensuring the availability and functioning of required items.
\n - Analyzes work orders and blueprints to determine need for supplies and sequence of operations required.
\n - Requisitions supplies, such as weld rods, gas, flux, and fixtures.
\n - Confers with weld inspectors or inspects work to maintain specified standards and quality.
\n - Train workers in operation of equipment.
\n - Scheduling work activities to meet production demands while maintaining product quality
\n - Lead and/or support the implementation of improved manufacturing welding
\n - Routine trouble shooting and problem solving, including finding ways of improvement for long-term solution.
\n - Encourage continuous idea generation from team members for continuous process improvement in cost, time, and safety.
\n - Ensure 5S (workplace organization method in the area with good housekeeping manner) is being applied on a daily basis.
\n - Ensure all equipment is up to date and within the standards needed.
\n - Follow updated schedules to meet ship dates provided by management.
\n - Strong attention to detail, organization skill, and communication skill.
\n - Prioritize tasks in a self-directed and time-managed manner.
\n - Monitor quality in accordance with the company ISO Quality Plan
\n - Regular attendance, ability to arrive at work punctually, and ability to work on-site.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES \n - Ability to supervise 1 - 90 non-exempt employees. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Kelvion's policies, procedures and applicable laws. Responsibilities will include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
\n - Directing employees' work; setting and adjusting rates of pay and hours of work of employees; planning and controlling the budget for department; providing for the safety of the employees; planning the work; determining the techniques to be used; apportioning the work among the workers.

COMPETENCY OR POSITION REQUIREMENTS (knowledge, skills, and abilities)\n - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
\n - Personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
\n - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
\n - Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
\n - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
\n - Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
\n - Ability to work cooperatively with others, ability to deal respectfully with the public, customers, vendors, other employees, managers, and executive management.
\n - Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ability to interchange with others in the department.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE (required levels)\n - High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Must have working understanding of AWS.
\n - Minimum 5 years of experience in a related field, including with robotic welding required. Proficient in welding techniques.
\n - Broad working experience in supply chain functions of planning, purchasing, inventory management and Logistics
\n - Hands-on knowledge
\n - Demonstrated leadership skills & managerial experience
