Position Summary
The Utilization Review Nurse II performs utilization review, discharge planning, and care coordination to ensure appropriate hospital resource use, maximize reimbursement, and support safe patient transitions. This role evaluates medical records, collaborates with physicians and care teams, develops discharge plans, and educates providers on documentation requirements.

Required Qualifications
Valid California RN license.
Level II: Minimum 1 year of utilization review/discharge planning in an acute care hospital or case management setting. Alternative pathway: 5 years of case management experience in a clinic/physician’s office performing utilization/discharge planning. Current BLS certification (AHA).
