About the Role:

The Quality Assurance Nurse at Seacrest Convalescent Hospital, Inc is a pivotal role focused on ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety within the facility. This position involves systematically evaluating clinical practices, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing evidence-based protocols to enhance healthcare outcomes. The nurse will collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to monitor compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies. By conducting thorough audits and analyzing patient care data, the Quality Assurance Nurse will drive continuous quality improvement initiatives. Ultimately, this role ensures that the hospital maintains accreditation standards and delivers exceptional care to all residents.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current and valid license vocational nurse license
  • Minimum of 1-3 years clinical nursing experience, preferably in a long-term care or convalescent setting.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare quality assurance standards, including CMS and Joint Commission requirements.
  • Proficiency in clinical documentation and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Quality Assurance or Patient Safety (e.g., CPHQ - Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality).
  • Experience with data analysis and quality improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma or Lean.
  • Familiarity with state and federal healthcare regulations specific to long-term care facilities.
  • Advanced training or education in nursing leadership or healthcare administration.
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular audits of patient care documentation and clinical procedures to ensure compliance with established standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement quality improvement plans.
  • Monitor patient outcomes and identify trends or issues that require corrective action or process enhancement.
  • Provide education and training to staff on quality assurance protocols and best practices.
  • Prepare detailed reports on quality metrics, audit findings, and improvement initiatives for hospital leadership and regulatory bodies.
