Production Supervisor - Injection Molding 

Day shift with minimal weekends and paid overtime! 

Tiffin, OH

Due to expansion and growth, a non-automotive, non-union, consumer products manufacturer is seeking a  Production Supervisor  to lead production in their injection molding facility to work on the DAY shift and lead a team of employees to meet daily production goals. This position will report to the Production Manager and will be responsible for the following tasks:

 

• Meeting and tracking production requirements and metrics
• Training, coaching, mentoring and evaluating the hourly workforce
• Ensuring shift safety, quality and delivery goals are met
• Assisting with identifying process improvements 
• Following the production schedule and making modifications as needed 
• Reviewing and confirming shift paperwork and production numbers 
• Confirming time sheets, vacation and time off within the timekeeping system 
• Conducting reviews and disciplinary action as needed 
• Ensuring that training is completed for new and current staff
• Completing mold changes and die setting
• Troubleshooting the injection molding process
• Willing to drive a forklift and work on the line as needed 
• Other duties as directed by management

 

This is a first-shift position, hours are 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. with up to 30 minutes before and after the shift. Qualified candidates should be flexible with their work requirements and be willing to wear many hats! Characteristics of the supervisor is able to hold others accountable, maintain a safe working culture, be a good communicator, and strive for process improvements. This is a team environment! Candidates will be on the manufacturing floor up to 100% of the day! 

 

REQUIREMENTS for the Production Supervisor - Injection Molding:

1. A minimum of a high school diploma or GED
2. At least five years of injection molding experience, with at least two as a production supervisor
3. Experience overseeing 5-10 direct reports 
4. Experience with die setting, mold changes and plastic processing 
5. Willingness to get forklift certified and drive a forklift as needed 
6. Basic Microsoft Office skills 

 

Skills preferred but NOT required:

1. Non-union supervision 
2. Process improvements, CI, 5S, etc. 
3. ERP experience 
4. Mechanical aptitude or maintenance background 
5. Forklift certification
