Pride Health is hiring a Pharmacy Technician to support our client’s medical facility based in Houston, TX. This is a 14-week contract job opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Duties:

To assist the pharmacist in the preparation, perform activities related to the repackaging and compounding, filling, and delivery of medications, and other tasks associated with dispensing in a manner developmentally appropriate for the ages of patients served (0-adult). Controlled Substances: Assists in the procurement, record keeping, storage, and distribution of all controlled substances.

Assists the pharmacist in ensuring the appropriateness of all medication doses by correctly entering the patient’s diagnosis, weight, allergies, and body surface area in the computer.

Follows aseptic technique and infection control in the preparation of sterile products. Completes annual recertification and scores at least 90% on the aseptic technique/infection control skills and written exam as documented by a qualified

observer. Insists that other technicians and pharmacists practice aseptic technique and infection control.

Ensures the medications prepared are correct, as verified by the pharmacist and as documented by a lack of dispensing errors.

Skills:

• Knowledge of current hospital and departmental standards for the handling of pharmaceuticals.
• Incumbents have math skills, reading skills, and good communication skills. Incumbent must be able to operate equipment used in the preparation of sterile products.

Inventory Delivery Technician: Responsible for maintaining stockouts and replenishing omnicells on the nursing floors in various buildings. Rotating stock, removing soon-to-expire medications, restocking OR anesthesia machines, including controlled substances. Repacking and Compounding medications weekly

Required- RPHT-TX - Reg Pharmacy Technician - TX State Board of Pharmacy, Or PHAR INT - Pharmacy Intern, State Board of Pharmacy

Education:

Required- RPHT-TX - Reg Pharmacy Technician - TX State Board of Pharmacy, Or PHAR INT - Pharmacy Intern State Board of Pharmacy

Preferred- CPHT - Cert-Pharm. TECH Certification Pharmacy Technician Certification Board

Additional Information:

Location: Houston, TX

Schedule: Day shift 9:30 am - 6 pm (Mon-Fri) with a weekend rotation alternating every other weekend 7 am - 3:30 pm (Sat/ Sun)

Pay Range: $30/Hr. - $36/Hr.

Start:09/08/2025
