Located in Glendive, MT

MILL OPERATOR $20/hr

General:

1. The Mill Operator will do his/her best to give our buyers the very best product that can be produced from the raw product received

2. The Mill Operator will have a respectful demeanor and stay calm at all times towards other employees, farmers, truck drivers and any other persons on the job site

3. The Mill Operator will politely challenge any person on site that you are not sure should be present

4. The Mill Operator will fully understand their part in the food safety system and creating a safe quality food for our customers

Communication:

Report in a timely fashion to the Plant Manager:

1. Any problems with product being processed that may not meet standard/customer product specifications

2. Any issues with warehousing or shipping

3. Any employee issues regarding work performance, worker safety and food safety

4. Any environmental issues effecting worker safety and food safety

5. The need for major equipment changes, repairs or improvements

6. The need for additional supplies as needed

Food Safety:

1. Be sure you are up to date on current company policy regarding food safety and security

2. Be sure only food grade lubricants are used on equipment where exposed product could be affected (example: inside the cleaner, over decks)

3. Be sure your clothes are proper for your job: No grease, oil, paint or other such substances on your clothes

4. You are responsible for the product you are producing, take pride in your work and that you are part of a growing company by keeping our food products safe

5. Do not have any food/drink in processing areas

6. Do not smoke in areas other than designated smoking areas

Worker Safety:

1. Be sure you are up to date on current work place rules and periodic training

2. Communicate about maintenance and use lockout-tagout as needed

3. Annual safety training is done to keep you safe, it is your responsibility to be sure you are following all safety protocols.

Environment:

Maintain the physical environment around your equipment by:

1. Regularly sweeping up and removing product spills

2. Regularly sweeping the general areas around your machines

3. Regularly removing accumulated dust and debris from machines and your work area

including light fixtures, overhead beams, railings and steps

4. Regularly inspecting walls, ceilings, windows and doors to be sure they are functional

and prevent the intrusion of pests and birds

5. When walking around the facility look to see if potential pest harborage areas exist

(example: pallets piled next to a building, equipment parts next to a door, vegetation

growing next to an outside wall)

Specific Job Functions:

Monitor, manage and maintain the processing function by:

1. Observing equipment as it runs

2. Make sure equipment is properly calibrated for its function

3. Make sure equipment is properly maintained by regular inspection and recording

such observations on required forms

4. Perform equipment minor repair and maintenance as needed or inform plant

maintenance and record any actions on the proper equipment forms

5. Collect product samples at the time intervals specified by the Plant Manager

6. Properly grade product samples and record the results as instructed by the Plant

Manager/Quality Manager
