Job Title: Medical Assistant (Mandarin Speaking)
Location: Brooklyn, NY 11215
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Assignment Duration: 16 weeks (with possible extension based on performance)
Pay Rate: $26 per hour
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Mandarin-speaking Medical Assistant to cover a 16-week vacancy at a busy physician practice in Brooklyn, NY. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in a clinical setting, strong communication skills, and the ability to provide compassionate patient care. Certification as a Medical Assistant is strongly preferred, and BLS certification is required.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and assist patients in a professional and courteous manner, especially Mandarin-speaking patients.
Perform clinical duties including taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and assisting physicians during patient visits.
Collect and update patient medical histories and records accurately in EMR systems.
Administer basic first aid and assist with minor medical procedures as directed.
Support patient flow by ensuring timely rooming and preparation of patients.
Follow all infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Coordinate with other healthcare team members to provide efficient patient care.
Perform BLS-related duties and assist in emergency situations as required.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED – Required
Medical Assistant Certification – Strongly Preferred (Required by department for this assignment)
Valid BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification – Required
Minimum 1 year experience as a Medical Assistant in a physician practice – Preferred
Fluency in Mandarin – Required
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
Additional Information:
This is a 16-week assignment with a strong possibility of extension based on performance.
