Job Title: Materials Lab Technician Pay Rate: $34.00-$39.00/hour, direct with full benefits Location: Cincinnati, OH 45242 Area Code: 513 Shift: 1st #aerospacemanufacturing #microscopy #labtech We are seeking a Materials Lab Technician to support materials testing and destructive evaluation of aerospace hardware, including advanced ceramic components. In this fast-paced engineering lab environment, you"ll perform imaging, measurement, and metallographic prep of fielded engine hardware. You"ll play a hands-on role in both inspection and sample preparation processes that contribute to technical analysis and engineering decision-making. Key Responsibilities

• Perform microscopy and dimensional imaging of aero engine hardware using a Keyence digital microscope
• Conduct fluorescent penetrant inspections (FPI) on ceramic and metallic hardware
• Capture high-resolution photography of components for post-characterization review
• Compile and organize inspection data into structured databases

* Support destructive evaluation and metallography: o Epoxy mounting and fixturing of hardware samples o Precision cutting, mounting, and polishing of sub-elements o Imaging of prepared cross-sections for engineering review

• Track and report the status of parts through processing stages, including queues and estimated completion timelines
• Collaborate with engineers and Materials Application Engineers (MAEs) to align on procedures and review data outcomes

Required Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in a materials lab, manufacturing, or production control environment
• Experience working in high-volume part tracking and lab coordination

* Proficiency using: o Keyence microscopes o Cut-off saws, calipers, scales, and other basic lab measurement tools

• Familiarity with FPI techniques and standard microscopy practices
• Experience with 3D surface measurement tools, such as profilometers, CMMs, or optical scanners (e.g., GOM Blue Light)
• Strong data entry and retrieval skills; comfort working with databases and Microsoft Office tools
• U.S. Citizenship required based on project scope

Preferred Attributes

• Experience using a Zeiss microscope or similar advanced microscopy tools
• Familiarity with metallography workflows: sectioning, mounting, polishing, and imaging
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Self-directed with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
• Comfortable working independently and meeting milestones with minimal supervision
