Job Title: Shipping Coordinator
Location: Erie, PA 16506 (100% onsite)
Duration: 3 months contract Primary Objective of Position:
- Complete shipping process for both Domestic and International Shipments.
- Direct contact with customers via phone and email regarding shipments and expedites.
- Process orders and maintain Intercompany Kanban site including order entry.
Major Areas of Accountability: - International and Domestic Shipments- Release and process Domestic Pick Slips to the Shipping Department multiple times per day.
- Release and process international pick slips to the Shipping Department for both single export shipments and consolidations.
- Coordinates shipments with Intercompany offices to obtain the necessary documents to release shipments.
- Contacts and works directly with Freight Forwarders to arrange shipment pickups.
- Prepare all necessary export documents to assure all Trade Compliance requirements have been satisfied.
- Obtain and retain all required documents to comply with Company's record retention policy.
- Must handle direct and indirect customer contact with diplomacy and sensitivity.
- Coordinates lost shipment tracking and processes claims for loss or damage
- Order Processing Activities - Responsible for Intercompany Kanban sites, both accepting new cards and entering the orders into Oracle and also maintaining and printing the Kanban cards at the time of shipment.
- Issues Return Authorization Numbers for product returns.
- When required, initiates/assists in formal and informal customer concern procedure.
- Coordinates issuance of credits and debits.
- Assists Customer Financial Services when necessary to support the efforts of the accounting function for timely payments from delinquent accounts.
- Operate with Minimum Supervision - Operates independently with minimum supervision for extended periods of time.
- New Account Setup - Setup new ship to and Freight Forwarder accounts as necessary using Company's Customer Financial Services website.
- Communicate to Customer Service/Operations Department - Works directly with Tescom's Master Scheduler and world area Material Planners to assure on time shipments.
- Consolidates orders, establishes order reservations, order priorities and communicates other special shipping requirements to Customer Service and Operations department.
- Productivity and Efficiency - Continuously seeks and recommends ways to improve the quality function capability, methods and procedures, and to increase department/division productivity.
- Scientific Problem Solving Tools - Uses scientific problem-solving tools, consistent with Dr. Demings 14 management principles, for the execution of normal work tasks.
- Apparent or Assigned - Performs related work as apparent or assigned.
Qualifications for Entry: - High school education/GED.
- Two-year customer service experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work accurately with numbers.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate (verbal/written) effectively with customers, distributors and employees.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a cooperative and team-oriented environment as well as independently.
