Aquatech immediately needs a full-time Senior Chemical Engineer to work in our Hartland, WI, ICD office. The hours of this position are Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Job Summary:

This role will support the final design, commissioning, and validation of evaporation and crystallization process systems. This role typically works under the guidance of a senior or other staff engineer and is critical in ensuring the successful execution of projects through detailed engineering, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and support during system startup.

Process Engineering System Design:
  • Process system and component design calculations using Aquatech proprietary design tools, and third-party process and chemistry simulation tools.
  • Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Provide Process Design Packages for the design of equipment such as evaporators, heat exchangers, and pressure vessels.
  • Unit operations sizing calculations and specification of process components including pumps, control valves, vapor compressors, dewatering equipment and piping systems.
  • Develop specifications for purchasing of equipment.
  • Develop the operating and controls narrative for programming of process control systems.
  • Support the development of installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance manuals.


Other Activities:

  • Participate in customer technical review meetings.
  • Collaborate with detail engineering teams across disciplines (project management, piping, structural, instrumentation & controls, electrical).
  • Collaborate with vendors/suppliers and review their technical submittals.
  • Provide office and on-site technical support during commissioning and startup phases.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Experience with large evaporators, crystallizers, or brine concentrators is preferred.
  • Familiarity with pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, valves, and instrumentation used in thermal evaporation or water treatment systems is preferred.
  • Knowledge of water chemistry is a plus.
