Clinic day/hours: 4 days/week (Monday - Friday)

$10,000 signing bonus!

The Oasis Center is an innovative clinic focused on providing holistic, trauma-informed care, integrating physical, behavioral, and social support to families affected by substance use disorders. The Oasis Center is a unique work environment that incorporates wide community partnerships, including employment support, transitional housing, peer mentors and Department of Human Services (SNAP, TANF benefits) into the care and stabilization of families. The MD/DO will work in a strong team-based environment to provide comprehensive primary and preventative care to patients of all ages, including diagnosing and treating illnesses, prescribing medications, and educating patients on health and wellness. The Oasis Center provides prenatal care and consequently has a large pediatric population, approximately 35% of the panel. Appropriate applicants will have a strong commitment to underserved communities and a desire to be part of an agency that approaches healthcare from a truly bio-psycho-social model.

Addiction Medicine experience is preferred, however training and mentoring is available for a motivated clinician with no prior experience but interest in acquiring this skill set. There is a limited, telephone call only call schedule, with clinician taking telephone call approximately one-week in every 6-8 weeks which are general medical calls and not specific to addiction (shared call group). Clinic schedule provides excellent work/life balance with one weekday off and last patient scheduled at no later than 4 PM.

The MD/DO will also have the opportunity to do hospital-based Addiction Medicine consults for pregnant and postpartum patients at area hospitals, although work in the hospital is not required.

Responsibilities: 
  • Conduct comprehensive medical assessments for both pediatric and adult patients 
  • Provide evidence-based treatment for SUDs, including Medications for Opioid Use Disorders (MOUD) and alcohol use disorders, when appropriate 
  • Manage chronic and acute health conditions in both adults and children within families 
  • Collaborate closely with behavioral health therapists, peer recovery mentors, and other wraparound staff to develop integrated care plans 
  • Offer patient and family education on health promotion, harm reduction, relapse prevention, and parenting in recovery 
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team 
  • Participate in case conferences, team huddles, and care coordination efforts 
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record 
  • Engage in community outreach and health promotion as needed 
  • Coding/Billing 


Requirements: 

  • MD/DO from accredited medical school 
  • Completion of Family Medicine residency program with current board accreditation 
  • Current State of Oregon licensure 
  • Strong knowledge of HIPAA 
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills 
  • Background or fellowship training in Addiction Medicine encouraged but not required
