Job Description A reputable and long-standing general contractor in your area is seeking a skilled Estimator to join its dynamic team. This contractor is known for successfully delivering impactful projects in the education and government sectors, with a strong commitment to quality, community, and long-term partnerships. What You’ll Do: Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for projects. Perform quantity takeoffs and analyze construction documents to define scope and budget requirements. Manage the end-to-end estimating process, coordinating with internal teams, owners, designers, and subcontractors. Maintain thorough records of estimates, pricing history, and bid outcomes to support continuous improvement. Evaluate design documents and recommend cost-effective solutions based on availability and constructability. Solicit and analyze proposals from subcontractors and vendors; participate in outreach to expand the bidder pool. Support procurement activities and assist with post-bid estimating needs such as change orders or revisions. What You Bring: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field OR 4-7+ years of relevant estimating experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, and industry-standard estimating software. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple deadlines and maintain accuracy under pressure. Clear and effective communicator, both written and verbal.
