Job Summary:

The Director,Proposal Writing will lead the strategy and execution of SmithRx's responses to Requests for Information (RFI) and Proposals (RFP). This pivotal role involves overseeing the entire proposal lifecycle, ensuring the development of highly compelling and persuasive responses that effectively communicate SmithRx's unique value proposition to prospective clients, consultants, and benefit brokers. The Director will foster strategic partnerships with cross-functional leadership teams (including Sales, Analytics, Clinical, Legal, Account Management, Marketing, and more) to gain a deep understanding of SmithRx's offerings and accurately represent services at a strategic level. This role is also responsible for establishing and maintaining a robust, scalable repository of responses and questionnaires, continually optimizing processes for efficiency and impact.

What you will do:

  • Lead the strategic vision for the Proposal Writing function, aligning with overall company goals and revenue targets.
  • Provide executive leadership and mentorship to a team of Proposal Managers and Writers, fostering their professional growth and ensuring high-quality, impactful work.
  • Oversee and optimize the end-to-end RFP and RFI processes, establishing best practices and serving as the primary strategic liaison for all proposal-related activities.
  • Drive the development of sophisticated and persuasive proposals that effectively articulate SmithRx's competitive advantages and value proposition to a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with executive and senior leadership across Sales, Strategy, Revenue, Marketing, and Account Management to proactively gather critical information and align on messaging for key proposals.
  • Partner with internal subject matter experts and leadership to craft highly accurate, compelling, and strategically sound proposals, ensuring all deadlines and compliance requirements are met.
  • Implement a rigorous review and quality assurance process for all proposal drafts, ensuring consistency in voice, messaging, and a superior final product that reflects SmithRx's brand.
  • Strategically develop, maintain, and continuously enhance a comprehensive knowledge base of responses and documentation, leveraging technology to maximize efficiency and accessibility.
  • Exercise advanced project management skills, independently managing multiple complex, high-stakes projects under tight deadlines while providing strategic oversight to the team.
  • Leverage advanced analytics and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) to track, manage, and report on the status of sales deliverables, providing strategic insights to leadership.

What you will bring to SmithRx:

  • 10+ years of extensive RFI/RFP experience and 5+ years of management experience, preferably within the pharmacy benefit management (PBM).
  • Bachelor's degree or higher education in business or related field, or equivalent years of relevant work experience is required
  • Proven track record of strategic leadership and team development, with demonstrated success in building, mentoring, and leading high-performing proposal teams.
  • Exceptional executive-level communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage diverse audiences.
  • Superior strategic thinking and analytical skills, with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for process optimization and innovation.
  • Mastery of clear, concise, and persuasive writing, with an ability to distill complex information into compelling narratives.
  • Advanced proficiency with proposal management software (Qvidian), CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), Microsoft Office Suite, and Adobe.
  • Outstanding program and project management acumen, with the ability to oversee multiple complex initiatives simultaneously and consistently deliver results in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • A strong strategic mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement, operational excellence, and driving measurable business outcomes.
  • A highly collaborative, adaptable, and results-oriented work style, thriving in a dynamic and rapidly expanding business environment.
