PURPOSE:
The Director of Family Support Services has overall, primary responsibility for the day-to-day provision of services and program operations of the Family Support Services programs which include Home Community Based Waiver Services such as: Day Habilitation without Walls, Family Support Services Reimbursement, Respite and Community Habilitation. The Mishkon Family Support Services programs provides individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) with structured, meaningful activities/ resources that promote personal growth, social interaction, and community involvement. The program enhances the quality of life for participants by helping them develop essential life skills, fostering independence, and encouraging active participation in their communities. The program maintains and provides individuals with an experience and standards in keeping with their Orthodox Jewish identity.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Family Support Services Director at Mishkon oversees the day-to-day operations of the Family Support Services programs. This includes developing and coordinating HCBS services, ensuring compliance with OPWDD regulations, and promoting person-centered planning and community integration. Using the Person-Centered Planning approach, the Family Support Services Director develops and coordinates activities and resources for individuals both on and off site in order to provide an enriching person-centered environment connected to each individual’s life plan goals. The Family Support Services Director hires, supervises and professionally grows Family Support Services staff, and liaises with clients, advocates, and other service providers on an ongoing basis for continuity of support. They conduct outreach, maintain census, oversee scheduling, ensure timely and proper billing and documentation, and are responsible for other administrative duties.
