About the Creative Director
The Creative Director (CD) is a discipline leader and a storyteller, operating at the intersection of design, technology and strategy. They work with VPs and executive leadership to ensure that the experiences we’re designing and building are ft for purpose and best-in-class and are ultimately responsible for the performance, structure, behavior, and decision-making of the 0XD teams they o0versee, generally across multiple lines of work. Further, Directors are not only experienced practitioners of our processes and methodologies, but are also able to merchandise, defend and articulate them to both clients and internal agency stakeholders. The ideal Director candidate is as much a performer as they are a scientist, capable of owning a room and selling their vision to even the most trepidatious or recalcitrant of clientele. They foster bon homme and inspire design excellence across the company writ large. Successful Directors are the ultimate arbiters of strategy and execution for the teams they oversee and possess an acute understanding of both Verndale’s business goals and those of their clients.

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree, or commensurate experience.
  • 10-15 years of related work experience.
  • Working knowledge of a variety of UX and design software.
  • Working knowledge of commonly used rapid prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Webfow).
  • Speaks authoritatively on a broad range of technical considerations related to delivering launch-ready digital assets.

  • Capable of drawing well-reasoned conclusions from evidence and reasoning. Assesses the strength of arguments and identifies potential consequences.
  • Proficiency in understanding and explaining the meaning of data, arguments, and information. Recognizes underlying assumptions and implications.
  • Ability to assess the credibility and relevance of sources, information, and arguments. Distinguishes between fact and opinion, and identifies biases or logical fallacies.
  • Ability to analyze complex information, identify patterns and relationships, and break down problems into manageable parts. • Working knowledge of HTML/CSS.
  • Experience with JS frameworks (e.g., Node.js, React, Vue) considered a plus.
  • Experience working within WCAG guidelines considered a plus. • Strong conceptual skills. Capable of drawing well-reasoned conclusions from evidence and reasoning. Assesses the strength of arguments and identifies potential consequences.
  • 3-5 years’ experience managing others.
  • Understands and extracts meaning from data, arguments, and information. Recognizes underlying assumptions and implications
