GENERAL PURPOSE: JLS Environmental Services Inc. is seeking a dependable and experienced Construction/Demolition Roll-Off Truck Driver to join our team. This position is ideal for a safety-driven professional with strong mechanical aptitude and a team-oriented mindset. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating roll-off trucks and other commercial vehicles to transport containers to and from job sites, ensuring full compliance with DOT, OSHA, and company safety standards. In addition to vehicle operations, this role includes on-site manual labor, equipment inspections, and collaboration with field crews to ensure high-quality service delivery on all environmental and demolition projects.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE :

(REQUIRED):

  • Valid Class A CDL
  • Roll-Off Bin Driver experience
  • Drive 10-speed manual transmission
  • No Automatic Restrictions
  • Ability to use various mobile devices
  • Perform physical functions per job requirements
  • Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical, by position
  • Per OSHA's Respiratory Protection Standard, 29 CFR 1910.34, employees in positions requiring respirators are required to meet facial hair standards.

(PREFERRED):

  • Possess Hazmat endorsement
  • TWIC Card
  • Previous Hazmat experience
  • Ability to operate a manual transmission
  • Previous manual labor experience
  • Heavy equipment operation is a plus

  • Ability to successfully pass pre-employment drug screening & background check.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

MAIN JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operates vehicle in accordance with Occupational and Safety Health Act (OSHA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements as well as all local, state and federal requirements and Company expectations for the Fleet; maintains a clean and safe vehicle.
  • Ability to drive various types of trucks including Flatbed, Box Trucks, and Roll-Off Hoists.
  • Performs pre- and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicle using utilizing standard DVIR (Driver Vehicle Inspection Report); notes all issues on DVIR form for corrective review/repair.
  • Immediately reports any unsafe situations or service calls to Fleet Manager or Dispatch before attempting service.
  • Participates and cooperates in all scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required.
  • Operate commercial trucks and assist field laborers when needed (team atmosphere where everyone helps)
  • Excellent navigation skills with the ability to read maps and use GPS systems effectively.
  • Manual labor on site to ensure fulfillment of needs
  • Maintain daily logs, time sheets, and various reports
  • Follow all local, state and federal compliance regulations and rules
  • Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state and federal requirements
  • Safely observe all corporate operating guidelines and procedures
  • Observe all company environmental health and safety operating guidelines
  • Performs other duties as assigned

PHYSICAL: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, bend, and crouch.
  • The employee must have a full range of body movements including use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, computer equipment and peripherals; ability to climb ladders, and access confined spaces.
  • Ability to climb stairs, scaffolding, ladders, bend, stoop, crawl, squat, reach and move 6+ hours at a time.
  • Must have command of all five senses: sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Finger dexterity and mobility to walk on uneven terrain.
  • Must have the ability to lift 80 pounds with regularity.

WORKING CONDITIONS: This position involves working both indoors but a majority of the time will be outdoors with varying weather conditions and noise levels. Exposure to dust, fumes, mold, and chemicals may occur. The employee may work near heavy equipment and moving mechanical parts. The hours may be longer during specific projects
