The Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy (PICI) is radically changing the way cancer research is done. Overview of the Role

The Chief of Staff reports to the Chief Executive Officer

Essential Job Functions

• Serve as a strategic thought partner to the Chief Executive Officer and other leaders within PICI. As Chief of Staff, you will support the entire 6-person Executive Leadership Team (ELT) to optimize the strategic, operational and financial performance of PICI in partnership with the CEO.
• Manage executive team cadences—agenda setting, meeting facilitation, and follow-ups with ELT and board.
• Assist with business operations of the ELT at PICI (setting agenda, collating input, tracking decisions and meeting outputs)
• Communicate on behalf of the CEO with internal and external stakeholders at an executive level (managing large volumes of requests appropriately)
• Provide senior-level advising, project leadership, including execution and facilitation, and be a key cross-functional collaborator
• Assist the CEO in setting priorities related to speaking and meeting engagements, networking and fundraising events, media requests and associated preparatory work (incl. slide development, gathering inputs etc.)
• Lead, oversee, and/or manage critical projects as well as tracking and communicating project status to stakeholders and key project participants
• Independently identify opportunities and issues to be addressed by the executive leadership team
• Maintain accountability for the on-time delivery of commitments
• Identify and recommend internal and/or external resources required for the timely completion of projects (in line with budget)
• Ensure the “Office of the CEO” runs smoothly operationally incl. working closely with administrative assistants and Communications to prioritize activities and ensure desired outcomes are achieved
• Help to foster a culture of transparency, accountability and business rigor

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Minimum Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience working in project management or management consulting with a focus in the biotech space with strategy experience
• BA/BS degree or equivalent (PMP or other project management certification) in business or life sciences, with graduate level or equivalent (MBA or doctorate) preferred
• Demonstrated track record of increasing responsibility in operational/ strategic roles
• Strong judgement to enable autonomy and elevate critical issues when needed
• Excellent time management and project management skills
• Ability to flex with PICI’s priorities and needs
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Driving and encouraging strong interdepartmental collaboration and communication.
• Willingness to explore new technologies/AI to enhance program management and decision making
• Ability to pick up new processes and technology quickly
• Strong organization and multitasking skills with a sense of urgency
• Detail and results oriented
• Able to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
• Approaches new challenges and high-pressure situations with a positive attitude and calm demeanor
• Able to deal with ambiguity and navigate appropriately
• Skilled at translating strategy into execution, balancing big-picture thinking with logistical considerations

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $175k - $205k per year based on experience and qualifications
• Health, dental, and vision insurance
• 403(b) with company match

Additional Information

• Must be authorized to work in the United States; we do not sponsor work visas
• Local candidates preferred
