Job Summary:

The CAD Technician will provide design and drafting expertise to support plant operations, continuous improvement initiatives, and cost reduction projects. This role involves controlling plant drawings, supporting troubleshooting activities, and collaborating closely with engineering and maintenance teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical drafting skills, particularly with SolidWorks, and have hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Control all plant drawings and coordinate drawing-related activities.
• Work directly with engineering and maintenance teams to provide drawings aiding in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
• Interface with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering to develop equipment for manufacturing processes.

Ensure completion of project documentation including:

• Drawings
• Spare parts lists
• Procedures
• Preventive maintenance schedules
• Calibration records

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD software
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong design and problem-solving skills
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
• Ability to create complete drawing packages and update detail drawings
• Understanding and implementation of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Self-motivated and technically curious
• Excellent organizational, planning, and multi-tasking capabilities
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with AutoCAD
• Prior work experience in a manufacturing environment
• Hands-on knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
• Advanced computer skills
• Experience with extrusion AM (3D printing)
• Familiarity with SolidWorks PDM or other drawing vault systems

Education:

Minimum 2-year technical degree in:

• Mechanical Engineering
• Electrical Engineering
• Electromechanical Engineering
• CAD/CAM
• Manufacturing
• OR equivalent experience with a certificate in drafting

Experience:

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in design/drafting, preferably within a manufacturing setting.
