POSITION OVERVIEW

Reporting to the Designer, Operations, the Assistant Designer will assist with the seasonal color, print, and design concepts, for the Underwear, Sleepwear, and Loungewear categories. The role will support graphic waistband design development to meet market needs and drive sales, as well as ensure timely execution of each stage of the artwork creation process. The ideal candidate will be passionate & enthusiastic about design, hard-working, creative, and will be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support the development of seasonal color and concept direction, inclusive of color palette creation, print artwork direction and recoloring of artwork.
  • Develop graphic waistband artwork in collaboration with the product design team.
  • Support and develop seasonal patterns and print artwork.
  • Support design cad creation and cad deck management inclusive of seasonal recolors, cad deck organization, and cross functional communication pertaining to cad deck status.
  • Support presentation board creation and maintenance for internal meetings
  • Support tech pack functions relevant to color and carryover product.
  • Develop strong working relationships with cross-functional team members (RM, Production, Marketing) through communication and collaboration to meet calendar deliverables, style plans, sales needs and emerging trends.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion/Apparel Design
  • Minimum years of experience- internships to 2 years in underwear/intimates or sleep/loungewear category; Dual gender experience, a plus
  • Expert technical skills in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, & PLM, Centric experience a plus
  • General understanding of cut & sew-specific garment construction-required
  • Experience working closely with Merchandising teams to create cohesive seasonal collections
  • Solid understanding of design process- computer flat sketching, trim development, print development, merchandising
  • Good eye for color and trend, and ability to follow creative direction for trend
  • Keen attention to detail, excellent organizational skills and ability to take independent action to achieve objectives
  • Experience in print and pattern design a plus
  • Ability to confidently assist in design and concept presentations to company
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects and deadlines at a time

Salary Range: S65,000 - $75,000
