About the role

We're looking for an AI Engineer to build and deploy AI services that help connect patients to faster, better care by empowering our care team and streamlining the patient experience. You'll own the full development lifecycle–from prototyping new AI capabilities to production-ready deployment. You will work closely with our cloud ops team for ongoing infrastructure management. This role combines hands-on service development with the technical depth needed to ship robust, scalable services on GCP.

Responsibilities 

• Develop new AI services and strengthen existing capabilities, from concept to production deployment
• Build and iterate on existing services including smart message routing and AI voice assistants
• Design APIs and service architectures that integrate with our existing healthcare platform
• Create AI evaluation models and testing frameworks to ensure service quality and safety
• Work with cloud ops to deploy and maintain services
• Collaborate closely with analytics to build datasets that empower AI agents and enrich the decision context

Basic Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience with Python and cloud infrastructure, preferably Google Cloud Platform
• Experience with working with APIs like OpenAI, Pinecone, and Anthropic
• Proficient with AI-assisted coding tools like Cursor, Claude Code, or similar tools
• Comfortability with data engineering concepts including SQL, BigQuery, data pipelines, and schema management
• Ability to build robust testing frameworks for complex, multi-component systems with proper error handling and monitoring

Preferred Qualifications:

• Interest in taking a structured and systematic approach to development: your code is well-documented, your tests are comprehensive, and you think about failure modes and the end-user experience

• Salary Range: $150,000-$160,000
